We are a privately owned and operated childcare centre. Ablecare was established in 1996 by a physiotherapist to provide support, therapy and educational programs for children and adults with disabilities. Our specialty is in the are of therapy and skill development through a holistic approach to care. The AbleCare motto is "Laugh, Share, Grow, Care" and the logo is a rainbow dancer which symbolizes the freedom and opportunity that growth and learning at AbleCare support.
Our philosophy upholds the belief that the AbleCare Early Learning Centre is an educating and caring community that involves children, their families and caregivers in a warm and supportive environment. Our aims include providing a safe, healthy and caring environment, to recognise each individual's potential and to stimulate sound physical, social, emotional and intellectual development through encouragement of each child's natural curiosity. Our Early Learning Centre has developed a high quality program for all age groups. Children of all ages are guided by well qualified and experienced staff. Our staff recognise that young children learn through doing and that every play situation presents an opportunity to extend a child's thinking, logic and problem solving skills, choices and decision making, vocabulary, science and math knowledge.
Each day's program takes into account a balance between indoor and outdoor play, quiet and boisterous activities. As children grow, they need parents and carers to guide them, to help them make sense of their world and to make life safer for them. Every family has its own rules and values, their own ideas about what is important to develop as good character in children. More than ever, in today's society, we need to talk about what's right and wrong and what is expected as moral behaviour. Due to this, within our programs, we focus on universal values that have the same meaning all over the world. Children learn and practice one virtue a week which include Kindness, Gentleness, Helpfulness and Truthfulness as these are desirable and similar in all cultures.
Families attending AbleCare Early Learning Centre may be eligible for the Child Care Benefil (CCB) which must be assessed by the Family Assistance Office (FAO) at any centrelink prior to the child commencing. The benefit relates to gross family income and work/study status and is calculated as a percentage of a ceiling which is set by the Commonwealth.
Fee's are assesed in order to fund the highest quality care and learning program run by tertiary-qualified staff and well experienced assistants, with the best possible physical facilities and equipment. The week's fees are payable in advance on the first day of attendance each week. All fees must be kept two weeks in advance and will not be reduced on absent days due to sickness or other reasons. At any time, if fees are in arrears of two weeks or more, we reserve the right to ask the parent to remove the child. If you are having problems paying fees for some reason, please speak to the director to make alternative arrangements.
AbleCare Early Learning Centre has an open door policy for parents to visit and talk, bearing in mind the needs of the children and staff at the time. Parents are encouraged to contribute ideas or suggestions to staff and to participate in a part of their child's day. At the entry to the centre, we have a suggestion box which can be used to anonymous comments. Every effort will be made to act positively on suggestions.
The centre features a large outdoor area fully undercover, so that even when it's raining, the children still have the opportunity to play outside safely. We have extra security around the centre including pin-code entry and higher fences around the yards. There is also intercom facilities in all rooms and playgrounds to make it easier for staff to maintain correct supervision and ratios at all times.
